Buteyko is easy...or maybe not ?
Some issues to consider around commitment to practicing Buteyko.
The discovery of Professor K.P. Buteyko turns out to be a series of apparent contradictions, that upon close examination do not contradict chemistry, biology, physiology and reality - but do frequently stand firmly in opposition to the most common views and general opinions.
Likewise, after more than 30 years of teaching Buteyko I can confirm another apparent contradiction - that Buteyko is both easy and nearly impossible to master.
If you are devoted, committed, serious, focused and apply what some might call a fanatical degree of attention to the practice, it is dead easy. Too easy almost.
If on the other hand you are double minded, unable to concentrate, involved in too many other diverse commitments, it will be painfully difficult - almost impossible to master.
Therefore, I would generally advise that anyone who wants to learn Buteyko sets aside their time appropriately , so they can give themselves the best chance of building the momentum, which produces the results, which in turn reinforces their motivation.
Children are different. They can somehow absorb things by some kind of an osmosis and even the most difficult to manage somehow, with few exceptions grasp the method instinctively, on the proviso it is made interesting.
This is my first post on Substack and I hope you found it useful and that you will continue to follow Learn Buteyko Online with me.
